Junior Lone Star FC has announced the addition of Charlie Flowe to the First Team staff as a goalkeeping coach.
Charlie Flowe is currently an assistant coach of Philadelphia University’s men’s soccer team where he primarily works with program’s five goalkeepers. He also is a pro trainer with West Coach Goalkeeping and Future Captain Sports.
On joining Junior Lone Star FC, “This is a club I highly respect and it has some very talented players that I am looking forward to coaching. I am thrilled to join this club as their goalkeeper coach. It will be an exciting season as our senior team is looking to make a serious run the U.S. Open Cup and battle for a top spot in the NPSL. I can’t thank our president Paul Konneh enough for this great opportunity.”

Charlie Flowe has worked with several clubs the Philadelphia area as a head coach, trainer and goalkeeper coach for the past 16 years.
Flowe started his soccer career as a player at Ferguson High School in Newport News, Virginia, where he was named team captain his senior year. After high school, Flowe moved to Philadelphia to attend Drexel University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Project Operation Management.
Flowe is a licensed U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) coach and holds NSCAA Level 1 & 2 goalkeeper diplomas. He was a founding member of Bella Vista Futbol Club in Philadelphia in 2002, where he served as a board member, player and coach until 2013. In 2015, he was assistant coach at Penn State Brandywine with their men’s soccer team.
Flowe also has media experience where he was the lead play-by-play announcer for Sky Blue FC in the National Women’s Soccer League. He is the founder and host of the World Sports Show, which is a weekly soccer-based radio show out of Philadelphia. Flowe previously served as the play-by-play man for the Pennsylvania Roar of the Major Indoor Soccer League.
This February, Flowe traveled to Turks and Caicos Islands for a college ID showcase. While there he ran sessions with the Turks and Caicos Islands Football Association national team goalkeepers.
Preseason practices for the Stars will resume on Tuesday as they prepare for a friendly match against Wilmington University on April 1st. The Stars will play their NPSL opener away to rivals West Chester United SC in the first leg of the Route 3 Derby on Saturday, May 13th at 7:00pm before hosting their home opener the following weekend against BuxMont Torch FC on Saturday, May 20th at the Monsignor Bonner High School.
