A hat-trick from Nyakeh Kamara, a brace from Ebere Goodluck and a goal apiece from Anthony Allison and Kanibah Kutu-Akoi were more than enough as the Stars defeated Phoenix SC 7-0 to win their second State Open Cup title in three years.
Ebere Goodluck started the scoring in the 15th minute off a cross from Abu Donzo. Nyakeh Kamara doubled the Stars’ lead in the 23rd minute off a pass from Lautaro Bonifacio.
Kamara scored his second of the night and the Stars’ third goal in the 32nd minute before Goodluck scored from the penalty spot in the 36th minute to give the Stars a 4-0 lead going into the break.
The Stars picked up where they left off with Kanibah Kutu-Akoi adding his name on the score sheet in the 54th minute.
Nine minutes later, Anthony Allison‘s powerful shot from 35 yards out caught the goalie off guard to put the Stars ahead 6-0 before Kamara completed his hat-trick in the 80th minute to give the Stars a 7-0 win and their second State Open Cup title in three years.
With the win, the Stars will represent Eastern Pennsylvania at the USASA Region I Open Cup which is expected to begin in March 2019.
