Announcing the appointment, president and executive director Paul Konneh said: “We have known Charlie for a couple of years now and he’s someone who has embraced the history and philosophy of this club so he’s no stranger.
“With all his knowledge about coaching and women’s soccer, we felt that he is the right fit for the job and we hope he will be able to build a successful women’s program for this club.”
Charlie Flowe added: “I would like to thank our front office for naming me head coach of our new women’s team.
“I am excited about the direction our club is taking and how we are continuing to help young players in Philadelphia grow to be better players.
“Adding a women’s team is something we have been looking into for a while now and I’m pumped to start building our roster!”
Further announcements, including the rest of the coaching staff and tryout, will be made in the coming days and weeks.
