Mamadou Diarra and Aboubacar Camara were the goal heroes as Philadelphia Lone Star FC got their USL League Two campaign off to a winning start against Lehigh Valley United.
The Stars started well an took an early lead in the third minute with Mamadou Diarra lobbing the ball over the onrushing goalie after receiving a through pass from Patrick Singbah.
Lehigh Valley United has couple of chances which were thwarted by goalkeeper Liam Smith in the first half.
The Stars then doubled their lead in the 52nd minute. Alvin Dahn played a defense splitting pass to send Diarra clean through and he took the ball around keeper McGrane and slotted home for his brace.
Aboubacar Camara made it three in the 61st minute via the penalty spot after Camara was brought down in the box after weaving his way through three defenders.
Coach Fatoma Turay then brought on Oumar Sylla for Marco Bla in the 73rd minute before making a double substitution in the 82nd minute with Moussa Conde and debutant Marco Madrono Millan coming on, followed by a triple substitution in the 87th minute with Bogdan Stere, Emanuel Caldeira, and Nicolloyd Dinham all coming on to make their debuts.
In the end it would be all three points for the Stars to open the season. The Stars will next be in action next Saturday as they host Reading United AC at the John Bartram HS Football Stadium with a 5:00pm kickoff.
