Philadelphia Lone Star is proud to announce that the club will be forming a Women’s team for the 2019 season.
The team is expected to play exhibition matches or compete directly in either the Women’s Premier Soccer League (WPSL) or the United Women’s Soccer (UWS).
Announcing the historic move, Philadelphia Lone Star president Paul Konneh said: “We are absolutely pleased with our decision to establish the club’s first ever women’s team.
“Philadelphia Lone Star is one of the top pro-development soccer clubs in Pennsylvania, and like our men’s team, we want to provide elite local female college athletes the opportunity to compete in a very competitive league during the summer.
“Our women’s team will be built with the same principle as the men’s first team and we hope to also form couple of girls teams so that a clear route can be established.”
