About Philadelphia Lone Star FC
Philadelphia Lone Star Football Club is Philadelphia’s only professional-development soccer club competing in five national leagues: USL League Two, National Premier Soccer League, United Premier Soccer League, the Women’s Premier Soccer League, and the US Youth Soccer National League. The club was established in 2001 under the name of Junior Lone Star Football Club. That name, selected by the founding members – a group of Liberian immigrants, was in tribute to the Liberian national soccer team which is nicknamed Lone Star. The club changed its name to Philadelphia Lone Star Football Club in September 2018.
In 2001, the club had a single team with only 13 players. The club now has more than 200 players that make up three men’s teams, three boys’ youth teams (one in Liberia), and a women’s team (inaugural season in 2019). Philadelphia Lone Star FC serves to develop players as a showcase for collegiate and/or professional soccer coaches.
About TickPick
Founded in 2011, TickPick is reshaping the secondary event ticket marketplace with its no-fees approach. The company does not charge any fees for buyers, setting it apart from competitive firms that charge steep transaction fees. It also leverages its algorithms to look at the price/value ratio for tickets, and then offers value grading for buyers so they can get the optimal experience for their money. Users can also bid on tickets in a process that is similar to financial markets where supply and demand creates a more efficient marketplace.
TickPick was founded by co-CEO’s Christopher O’Brien and Brett Goldberg who saw inefficiencies in the ticket marketplace and decided to build a more transparent and cost-effective solution. For more information, visit www.tickpick.com.
