Game information… Stars will make the short trip to West Chester United SC on Saturday, May 13th with kick-off slated for 7:00pm at the WCUSC Turf Field. Tickets are $5 for adults but free for kids 18 and younger who wear an EPYSA soccer club jersey to the game. For those fans who can’t make the game, it will be broadcast live on the JLSFC’s official Facebook Page. Setting the scene… After our inaugural Lamar Hunt US Open Cup run came to an abrupt end at Ocean City Nor’easters on Wednesday, the Stars complete their three-game road trip with the 2017 NPSL season opener away to fierce rivals West Chester United SC in the Route 3 Derby which happens to be the first leg of the inaugural Kildare’s Cup. It will be United’s inaugural season in the NPSL while the Stars will be returning for their fifth season.
Previous Meetings…. Overall, the Stars have won two and lost three at West Chester United SC and the most recent match between the two rivals was played in the EPSA Open Cup quarterfinals on November 13, 2016 which resulted in a 2-0 triumph for the Stars, thanks to strikes from Joshua Chelleh and Molley Karpeh, Jr.
When was the last time the Route 3 derby was played in the NPSL? Never, this will be the first time this derby will be played on the biggest stage in the NPSL.
Who’s the man in the middle? The center referee for Saturday’s game will be Lee Carter (EPA). He will be assisted by Terence Houck (06/EPA) and Joseph Lynch (08/EPA) while Ed Lynch (07/EPA) will be the fourth official.
