PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (November 14, 2019) – Philadelphia Lone Star FC winger Kanibah Kutu-Akoi has received an international call-up for the Liberia Under-20 camp in preparation for the upcoming West African Football Union (WAFU) Under-20 Nations Cup.
Kutu-Akoi is among several players selected for the camp where trials are to be held. The last time Kutu-Akoi competed against a national team was a friendly with Philadelphia Lone Star U-23s against the United States U-20 MNT in Orlando, FL two years ago.
The 20-year old winger will depart Philadelphia for Monrovia this weekend to join the rest of the Liberia U-20 squad already on camp.
Liberia have been drawn in Group B with defending WAFU U-20 champions Gambia along with Guinea-Bissau and Mali.
The tournament will kick-off on November 24 in Guinea with Liberia playing their tournament opener against Guinea-Bissau the next day. Liberia will then battle Gambia on November 27 before playing their last game against Mali on December 2. The semi-finals and final will be played on December 5 and December 8, respectively.
